Meet the Founder of Purpose &Pixel
Half of me keeps the lights on. The other half makes the place worth walking into.
I’m Meg , a designer with twenty years in the back end of technology and a lifelong soft spot for the creative side. The combination is the whole point.
I build websites for women who are very good at what they do and have earned their success. They’re service providers - consultants, attorneys, therapists, coaches, creatives with real track records whose online presence hasn’t caught up to them yet.
There’s a name for the distance between what you’ve built and what your website says about it. It’s called the credibility gap, and closing it is the whole job.
I’m the youngest of a creative family — my mom at the piano, my brother the artist, my sister a soprano, and me the musician. (Dad was an engineer and couldn’t carry a tune himself, but he loved the arts.)
Naturally, I went to college to study economics, and went on to get an MBA. I spent the next twenty-plus years in corporate IT & finance, systems, the infrastructure nobody notices until it breaks.
Meanwhile the creative kid I’d been kept tapping me on the shoulder.
A layoff at forty-six, some genuinely hard years, and a meditation practice later, I finally let the two halves do the same job. Web design is where they met.
Why I talk about a Visual Credibility System
That background is why I see your website the way I do: as a system, not a picture.
The design matters, but it sits on a stack of decisions: how you’re found, how someone moves through the page, what the words say, what the images prove.
Get one wrong and the whole thing reads as untrustworthy, however good it looks.
The Visual Credibility System is my answer: brand, strategy, story, and images, assembled into a site that finally says the same thing about you that the room already does.
What I Hold To
Integrity. The whole offer is credibility, so it starts with mine — the honest version, always, even when it costs me the project.
Craft. One client at a time, no junior designers, no slop. Every decision is deliberate.
Ease. A big investment doesn’t have to feel heavy. When it gets tense, I’m the one lowering the temperature.

Music was my first language and love. There’s always instrumental jazz on while I work.
I taught myself to make a proper craft cocktail during the pandemic. (The martini on my moodboard isn’t an accident.)
My dark-chocolate habit is bordering on a personality trait.
The Name
Purpose and Pixel is two halves of one idea.
Purpose: the intention behind every project.
Pixel: the craft that brings it to life.
The analytical and the creative, doing the same job at last.
